Ever wonder how beekeepers remove the honey from the honeycomb?
Join the Beekeepers Guild of Southeast Virginia as we extract honey on Saturday, July 9th from 1 to 3 PM at the Deep Creek Ruritan Club.
We will begin at 1:00 PM with a demonstration of how the cells of honey are uncapped and then use both a manual and an electric honey extractor to remove the honey from the comb.
Join us to view the process which preserves the honeycomb for refilling by the bees and give it a try yourself. Fun for the whole family!
