The December BOD meeting was held on Thursday 1 December, 2011 at 7 PM.  Members present were Pam Fisher, Rick Fisher, Barbra Hickey, Gene Richley, Nick Delphia, Bob Montcalm, and David Kvello.

 The following upcoming items were discussed:  WHRO Pledge Drive, Holiday Social, VA Flower and Garden Expo, Winter Wildlife Festival, and Honey Workshop.

 Guild Publications are in need of printing and our sources have run out.  Options to have printed were discussed and being explored.

 Colonial Beekeepers Queen Rearing Workshop was discussed.

 Planning for Beginning Beekeepers Short Course was fine tuned, with costs and options being set ($30 for individual w/materials, $15 additional family members w/o materials. Pricing for an additional book (Complete Idiots Guide to Beekeeping) is being explored as an add on.

 The Board approved proposing to the membership a $90 Holiday Charitable gift to Heifer International for 3 hives of bees.

 A Group Queen order (NOT the Ohio Queens) is being explored for the Guild for spring.

 The Board Approved Hosting the VSBA meeting in June 2013.  Venues are being explored now, all funding comes from VSBA.
